"It's as close as you can get to the oil sands, without a hard hat and work boots!" The Oil Sands Discovery Centre tells the story of Alberta's oil sands through colourful, interactive exhibits and daily interpretive programs.

Fort McMurray's Heritage Park aims to preserve historical artifacts and buildings from the town's past. Visitors can take professionally or self-guided tours of an early 1900s trappers cabin, a Catholic mission, a drug store from the 1940s and more. A number of special events are held at the park throughout the year.
