Welcome to Rideau Hall, where every Governor General has lived and worked since Canada's birth in 1867. Throughout the year, tours of Rideau Hall give you a chance to walk through Canada's history. Guided tours are free and last 45 minutes, and the grounds are open from 8 a.m. to one hour prior to sunset. If you have a group of ten people or more, we ask that you make a reservation 48 hours in advance by calling one of the above telephone numbers.
