The DAF Museum is devoted to the history of the only truck manufacturer native to the Netherlands. It features over 120 classic vehicles and automobiles, including the ’riding raincoat’ one-seater, and an incredible Royal Beach Car. Even if you are not normally interested in cars and trucks, you will find that the vehicles displayed here have a ’times gone by’ charm which will fascinate you. Kempenland Museum

The Kempenland Museum in Eindhoven contains an extensive collection of artifacts depicting the history of Eindhoven and the surrounding regions. The building itself is an Italianate basilica that was constructed between 1917 and 1919, and features some interesting stained-glass windows. The museum has a collection of 19th and 20th century art and sculptures created by Dutch and Belgian artists. A variety of books are available, published by the museum, covering the history of the area and the works of various artists.

De Tongelreep Swimming Paradise is a water activity park on the southern edge of Eindhoven, and serves as a haven for travellers in need of a break from sightseeing. The park contains a wave pool, a water chute ride, bubble pools, a paddling pool for younger visitors, whirlpools to relax in, and a 50m (165-ft) indoor swimming pool. There is also an outdoor pool with a sunbathing area for use during the summer months. |

The Van Abbe Museum is a museum of modern and contemporary art. The museum opened in 1936, and has built up a collection of over 2700 items, including works by renowned masters such as Picasso, Chagall, Weiner, and McCarthy. The museum has recently been renovated, and the Oudbouw (old building) now plays host to a number of temporary exhibitions, with the Nieuwbouw (new building) showcasing the main collection and the ’Living Archive’ documentary exhibitions, which are based on the museum archive. |
