Bergen city centre

Just to browse around the old streets and alleyways is an experience. Here, people have lived and worked for centuries. Small wooden houses lie higgledy-piggledy, cobblestoned stepways climb steeply, and a love of flowers spills over everything. Mountain hiking
The mountains surrounding Bergen offer a wide range of walks in mountainous and wooded terrain. The Bergen Mountain Touring Association organises walking tours at weekends and supplies information on cabins and mountain routes all over Norway.

Fjord tours
Bergen is surrounded by one of the world's most spectacular tourist attractions - The Norwegian Fjords. Bergen is the gateway to the fjords - it's the fjords' "capital city".  The fjords around Bergen are many and varied. Whether you have only time for a short sightseeing trip, whether you want to see the area in more detail, there are plenty of tours in and around Bergen to provide you with unforgettable memories. Fishing tours
Every day during the summer season, boats embark of the harbour area in Bergen for sea fishing trips. These boats will offer you an opportunity to go fishing the inexpensive way. It is usually a three to four hour trip in the fjords nearby the centre of Bergen and will give you a pleasant fine fishing experience. Some equipment and tackle is aboard but we recommend you to rent such equipment at our shop to ensure a nice fishing experience. The fish is ordinarily not as large as the ones you catch off the coast, but a catch is virtually guaranteed. Cod, mackarell, saithe, pollack and Ling are usually what one catches. There are ordinarily up to 50 passengers on each trip. Some of the boats also sells beer, coffee & vaffles during the trip.

Deep-sea Fishing
Many dream of going deep-sea fishing and Bergen is ideally situated. You may choose between fishing on the open sea or in the relatively calmer waters of the surrounding skerry guard - either way, the prospects are excellent! Marsteinen and Fedje are two destinations close to Bergen where fishing is particularly
good.

Bathing
Helleneset is a popular swimming spot at Lønborg, two kilometres north of the NHH college. Sandy beach, smooth rocks and children's pool. Diving board, kiosk, showers and toilets. Popular cliffs for climbing. Good parking facilities nearby. Vannkanten Waterworld: A fun place for the whole family. Bergen's only waterworld has pools suitable for different age groups, thrilling flumes, a bowling alley, a separate area just for relaxing and a coffee bar. Sentralbadet is the city's number one venue for swimmers. It has a 25 m pool with diving board, diving tower and a separate children's pool. You can work on your tan in one of the solariums or sweat out in the sauna.
